Do you need a reason to reach out to the lost? Maybe the statement made by Jesus Christ, to go into all the world and preach the gospel, wasn’t for you. Maybe that statement was just for the first generation of the church. Maybe the world is right and we should stop trying to push our Jesus on everyone. But just maybe the person, you don’t believe it is your responsibility to reach for the Lord, has a gifting locked away in her world of oppression that we all need.

The Church is the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, and causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. What if the person, you won’t talk to about Jesus, is the part that is needed to lift you up in love – or your son – or your daughter? Maybe the family member you are praying for can be reached by the part that you pass by everyday and never talk to about our Lord. Maybe you are the one that can reach that part of the body of Christ today.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). God is showing the fruit of the Spirit towards us, not willing that any should perish – that all should come to repentance; the commission is just alive today as it has ever been. Love is enabling someone to be what God created them to be – God created us to be at liberty in Him. Open your mouth and let the river of life flow – be what God created you to be.

Our Father God, give us the boldness to be the one you created us to be. Let us worship you by being about your work and not our business. Let us praise you with the words spoken to the lost and the oppressed, to set them free in You. Lord guide us in a way so our life is an example to those seeking; a sign of hope to the lost. You have taken away the curse of our iniquities and ended the captivity of our days. Man was giver 70 years, as the number of years of our captivity, but You have placed it on the back of your Son – to set us free. Grant us to walk in our freedom and rebuild the walls of Your Church in the peace that surpasses all understanding. Giving glory to Your Son in whom you have given glory and all authority. Amen.
